We Need You!

We need nominations for a new PTC Board! If you or anyone else you know would like to be considered for any position, please send in the nomination slip that came home with your child to school (put it in an envelope labeled “PTC Events Nomination”) or you can email your nomination to cromieptc@gmail.com.

Taking on a position is a GREAT way to meet other parents and make lasting friends. Also, keep in mind that if you decide you want to give it a try, you will never be alone!! The current board and all the previous board/PTC members are always open to questions and advice and are willing to jump in and help whenever you might want or need it!! It’s a team effort!! Together, our goal is to do great things which allows us to be able to provide great things for our kids and our teachers, and to have fun while doing it!! Come on – give it a try!

Our Books Need Your Help!

HELP!

OK. Maybe the books don’t need your help, but Mrs. Fletcher does!!! Mrs. Fletcher is our super-cool Media Specialist and she is in desperate need of help! It’s a GIANT job to keep up with the 600+ kids who stroll through her stacks every week, and it’s necessary to have a small army of parent helpers to come in to help keep things in order and help the kids find the books that they like! Sadly, our small army has dwindled to just a few tired soldiers, and they just can’t keep up with the thousands of books that travel through the Media Center on a weekly basis.

Helping out is really easy and fun, and you can help out as little or as much as you want. Parents who would need to bring their smaller children are also welcome! This is a PERFECT opportunity for any parent who wants to come in and see their child in school! You’ll be amazed at how excitedyour child/grandchild will be to see you helping at their school! (It’s a bragging right for them!)..

FUN RUN – Turn that money in to get prizes!!

This is our BIGGEST fundraiser for the year and funds almost everything we do and all of the great learning programs we are able to provide our teachers and staff with, so if you haven’t already, get that money turned in by October 15th to be eligible for all those prizes!!

The greatest thing about this is that 100% of the money turned in goes directly to your kids; and all 5th graders will get to have 50% of what they earn go directly into their individual account for 5th Grade Camp.

Every child who collects $20 or more earns a participation prize (we’re working on a cool one this year!), earns a ticket to a raffle (and we’re raffling off some really cool game and prize baskets!), and for each $20 they bring in, they get $1 (called a “Book Buck”) to spend at the Spring Book Fair.

We have it so that each class/child has the ability to win, as long as they participate. They could win a prize in the raffles, or they could win a Popcorn/Movie assembly, or a cupcake party. If they really go out and get a TON of pledges, they could win a $100, $75, or $50 cash prize!!!

This event is truly a WIN-WIN: the kids got to exercise while having fun, while raising money for the very programs that they use on a daily basis to learn and become lifelong learners.

Hello, everyone! Welcome (back) to Cromie!!! We hope your summer was wonderful and relaxing ‘cuz things are starting here at Cromie!! Our first day is September 4th, which is a half-day. For those who would like to see our school website, click here.
